131st Aviation Company (AS)

"SPUD"

The 131st Aviation Company (Aerial Weapons) was activated at Fort Benning, Georgia, on July 1, 1965 and attached to the 1st Calvary Division. The unit was inactivated on April 25, 1966.

The 131st Aviation Company (Aerial Surveillance) was activated in Vietnam, on June 1, 1966 and took over the assets of the 20th Aerial Surveillance and Target Acquisition Detachment (20th ASTA).  The unit was inactivated in Vietnam on July 1, 1971.

The unit was located at Phu Bai.
