Editors Note: The organizational history of "B" Company is intertwined with the battalion and other companies within the battalion. All elements of this unit are listed here so you may see how these individual units were assigned. For this organizational history, when an element achieves it's own identity separate from "B" Company, we no longer track it.

The 1st Aviation Company (Infantry Division) was constituted, allotted to the Regular Army and assigned as an organic element of the 1st Infantry Division.

The unit was activated on 15 February 1957 at Ft. Riley, Kansas, under TO&E 1-7T ROCID.
